We had a visiting family come and lead worship. They were all dressed nicely and sang beautifully. They played musical instruments.
I leaned over to Hubby and said, that's what you want me to do - dress like that and sing like that (we had had a disagreement about my outfit that morning). And they were great!
How does this happen? Some families are blessed with musical tallent and I'm sitting here thinking they have all that tallent! I would love for us all to learn how to sing and/or play an instrument. But because my family cannot play and Matthew's family cannot play, we have no one to teach us to play.
Angela was wonderful to bless us with lessons for a while, but being pregnant with #5 in 6 years takes it's toll.
How much are lessons a month? $20 per week. Which is $80 per month. And I have 2 kids that are old enough for lessons. That's $160 a month for music lessons. Yeah, that's not going to happen. I was just on my "official" blog looking at my blessings.
So here's where I am. The Lord did not give us a family with musical tallent. And He did not give me money for lessons. So why am I upset that they can not learn? I'm not. Yes, I am telling myself that it's not up to me. And there's not anything I can do about that.
I am still planning on ordering a few CD's for the kids. I don't know when I'll be able to get them or if they will work without accountability. But I'm going to try. They are called: Quick Piano from Homeschool How-to and Guitar Made Easy by AOP. Maybe if I can see it on the computer with lessons, then maybe it will work until the Lord provides something else.
As for the clothes, jewerly, makeup, etc... well, I go through phases where I like to do that too. I may not have the dress suit, but I have been blessed with clothes and makeup and a wonderful curling iron! I just need to learn to use it before noon! LOL!

Matthew is not expecting me to be other than who I am. He knows I'm pretty lazy in getting ready in the mornings. Let's face it, every morning I take a shower and put on jeans and a cute top. I usually do not have o get ready for work until after lunch. Byt then half my "prep time" is already done so it's easier to get ready to go out. Very rarely do we have differnet oppinions about clothing and/or dress unless I'm being lazy!
LOL! I love your thoughts on the suit! But you know, it is nice to wear it sometimes too!
Thanks for the encouragement too!
Hi Jennifer,
I just randomly clicked on your blog from your email signature, I think you look great! We always fail to measure up when we compare ourselves to other women, we only see what's on the outside and often have more grace for them than for ourselves.
Sorry to hear about the frustration with music lessons. I have a feeling we will be facing the same thing in a few years, Genevieve loves music and David and I have no talent in that area AT ALL. If you really wanted them, I wonder if you could find someone local that would barter with you for a service rather than charge you. Maybe they need a web site made or real estate help or something?

HI Angela T,
Thanks for stopping by and the ideas!
